Updating creatives in bulk on the roadmap
Moving creatives one at a time is fine for a handful of cards, but when you launch a batch of tests or clear an old backlog, you want to update many at once. The Creative Roadmap supports bulk status changes: select multiple cards and move them all to a new status in a single action. This article shows you how, and when bulk actions save the most time.
If you need a refresher on what each status means, read how creative statuses work before making sweeping changes.
When bulk updates help most
Bulk actions shine any time a group of creatives should move together. Common moments include:
- Launching a test batch — move several cards from ready to test into testing at once.
- Recording test results — send everything that lost to archived after a test round.
- Clearing a backlog — advance a stack of briefed creatives into working when editors free up.
- Cleaning the board — archive a group of retired or completed creatives to declutter columns.
How to update creatives in bulk
- Open the roadmap.
- Optionally apply filters or search first to narrow the board to the cards you want to change.
- Select multiple creatives by choosing each card you want to include.
- Apply a bulk status change to move the whole selection to the new status at once.
- Confirm the change and check that the cards landed in the right column.
Pairing bulk actions with filters
Bulk updates are far more powerful when combined with filters. The pattern is simple: use filters to isolate the exact set of cards, then act on all of them at once. For example, filter to a single ad type in testing, review the results, and bulk-archive the ones that did not win. For the full range of filters available, see filtering and searching your roadmap.
A batch-testing workflow
Bulk actions were built for a testing cadence. A typical weekly rhythm looks like this:
- Filter to ready to test to see your launch queue.
- Select the creatives you are launching this round and bulk-move them to testing.
- After the test window, read your results in your ad manager.
- Bulk-move the winners to winner and the rest to archived.
- Spin up new planned cards based on what you learned.
Good habits for bulk changes
Because a bulk change touches many cards at once, a little care keeps your board trustworthy:
- Double-check your selection before applying, especially after filtering, so you do not move cards you did not mean to.
- Move like with like — bulk changes work best when every selected card genuinely belongs in the same new status.
- Keep assignees and due dates in mind — a status change does not reassign work, so revisit ownership after big moves. See assigning creatives and setting due dates.
How bulk changes affect Insights
Every status you set feeds your reporting. When you bulk-mark a round of tests as winners or archived, those outcomes flow into Insights, where win rate, winners, and tested counts are tracked over date ranges and can be exported to CSV. Accurate bulk updates mean accurate analytics.
